چکیده
Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of treating sequestered lumbar disc herniation (SLDH) with Feng’s spinal manipulation. Methods: 112 patients (52 males, 60 females) with SLDH were treated by Feng’s spinal manipulation. The clinical outcome was evaluated by using the JOA (Japanese Orthopaedic Association) score and Feng’s spinal assessment system for SLDH. The MRI sagittal index (SI) of lumbar disc herniation was measured and compared between preand post-treatment. Result: The scoring of patients’ subjective and clinical symptoms were improved significantly before discharge as well as on follow-up (P<0.05). There was no statistical difference in the SI between preand post-treatment. However, there was significant difference in SI between pre-treatment and follow-up. Conclusion: The leading pathologic change in SLDH is single/multiple vertebral subluxation. Feng’s spinal manipulation can correct the vertebral subluxation which leads to spinal column stability. The clinical signs disappeared with the recovery of spinal column stability.

Preliminary Report of Combined Microscopic Fragmentectomy and Nucleoplasty for Sequestrated Lumbar Disc Herniation.
OBJECTIVE This retrospective study was undertaken to evaluate the efficacy of combined microscopic fragmentectomy and intraoperative nucleoplasty for sequestrated lumbar disc herniation. METHODS Twenty-four patients with magnetic resonance imaging proven sequestrated lumbar disc herniation with small annular leak treated by microscopic fragmentectomy and nucleoplasty were included. Patients w...
متن کاملFrequency of Instrumentation in Lumbar Spinal Stenosis and Lumbar Disc Herniation
Background & Aim: Lumbosacral pain is extremely common as age increases. Spinal instrumentation is sometimes recommended for lumbar canal stenosis and disk herniation surgery. This study aimed at studying the frequency of instrumentation in patients referring to our center. Methods & Materials/Patients: This retrospective cross-sectional study included 1200 patients with low back and...
متن کاملLower thoracic disc herniation mimicking lower lumbar disk disease: A case report
Thoracic disk herniation comprises 0.15% of all disk herniation and has various and confusing manifestations. Among them, radicular pain down the leg could be the rarest presentation, especially if it is the only complaint. On the other hand, finding the relationship between clinical and paraclinical needs require high index of suspension and it is demanding. A 34-year-old patient, who ha...
متن کاملThe Cervical Sequestrated Disc Fragment Presenting as Mass Lesion: Case Report and Review of the Literature
Background & Importance: Disc herniation is defined as the prolapsed of material disc into the spinal canal. If the disc fragment is free in spinal canal, it is called sequestration disc fragment. Occasionally, alteration in sequestration disc fragment makes the diagnosis of the disc herniation, challenging. Case Presentation: We reviewed a rare case of the cervical sequestrated disc...
متن کاملHuge Sequestered Spinal Disc Mimicking Spinal Intradural Tumor
Background and Importance: Disk sequestration can be defined as a herniated disk with perforation of the fibrous ring (or outermost annulus fibrosus) and posterior longitudinal ligament with migration of the disk fragment to the epidural space. Even after the introduction of high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), it is still frequently misinterpreted as neoplastic masses. U...
